Kennel Attendant•Join Our Veterinary Team!
Location:
Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island Starting Pay:
$18.50/hr Hours•Monday•Friday 10AM to 6PM Some Saturdays may be required Are you an upbeat, energetic animal lover looking to join a compassionate veterinary team? Our three-doctor animal hospital in Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island is seeking a dedicated Kennel Attendant to play a vital role in caring for our patients. We take pride in providing the highest quality care with gentleness and compassion , and we're looking for a team player who shares our values!
What We're Looking For:
A person who loves animals and loves to clean A hardworking, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment . A friendly and professional attitude toward clients, pets, and coworkers. Experience in customer service or the veterinary/medical field is a huge plus!
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital, including kennels, exam rooms, and common areas.
Perform janitorial tasks:
taking out trash, sweeping, mopping, and sterilizing surfaces. Ensure pets are cared for and comfortable in kennels. Assist veterinarians, vet techs, and reception staff as needed. Restock hospital supplies and pet food throughout the day. Clean and maintain outdoor areas.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements:
Must enjoy working with dogs and cats . Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and handle large animals (up to 100 lbs ). Comfortable with bending, squatting, and standing for long periods . Willing to learn and use safe animal restraint techniques . Punctual, reliable, and responsible . Strong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions .
