We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team at a busy 2nd generation family-owned small animal practice in Spokane Valley, WA. Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures Safely restrain animals for exams and procedures Administer medications as directed Collect samples and perform basic lab tests Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, kennels, and surgical areas Educate clients on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health Handle and care for animals with compassion and professionalism Support reception team as needed, including client communication and scheduling
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience as a veterinary assistant (preferred) or certification as a Licensed Veterinary Technician Strong animal handling and restraint skills Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and equipment Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient and client care
Preferred:
Experience with Windows based computer systems, phone communication, and processing payment transactions Certification as a Veterinary Assistant (CVA) or equivalent
