Do you have a passion for dentistry? Are you looking for a clinic that can provide work-life balance? Look no further! Join our veterinary hospital as a part-time Veterinary Assistant and become an integral part of our animal healthcare team! In this hands-on role, you'll provide compassionate care for our patients while gaining valuable experience in veterinary medicine. We pride ourselves on a collaborative team culture and are willing to train you if you do not have dentistry experience! •This position requires shifts on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:00am-5:30pm•What Success Looks Like:
Compassionate Care Provider:
You'll handle and restrain animals with confidence and gentleness, ensuring their comfort during examinations and procedures while providing reassurance to pets experiencing stress or illness.Medical Support Expert:
You'll assist our veterinary team with treatments, diagnostics, and surgeries, preparing equipment, monitoring patients, and maintaining accurate records of care provided.Hospital Caretaker:
You'll maintain the cleanliness and organization of our hospital, ensuring a safe, sanitary environment for our patients, clients, and team members.Communication Liaison:
You'll relay important patient updates to veterinarians and fellow team members, helping maintain continuity of care and ensuring all staff are well-informed about patients' status.Client Educator:
Under veterinarian guidance, you'll communicate with pet owners about their animals' care, medications, and home treatment plans, providing clear instructions with empathy and professionalism. What Makes You aGreat Fit:
Passion for canine and feline dental care Exceptional animal handling skills with the ability to work safely with pets of all temperaments Strong knowledge of veterinary medical procedures, laboratory techniques, and venipuncture Excellent communication skills with both team members and clients Detail-oriented approach to patient care and medical record-keeping Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting patients Genuine compassion for animals and commitment to quality care Adaptability and willingness to assist in various hospital areas as neededEducation & Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required 1+ years of experience in a veterinary hospital Anesthesia monitoring experience preferred Experience with dentistry is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate! Associate degree in veterinary technology or continuing education in veterinary science a plusHow We'll Support You:
