Job Description

Looking for a job where you can help animals and the humans that love them? Do you love biology? Do you love having weekends free? Come join our veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant or licensed technician! We are a privately owned veterinary clinic that operates Monday through Friday. NAH provides preventative care and urgent care primarily to dogs and cats as well as the occasional pocket pet. We do not see emergencies at night or on weekends (no on-call), though staff share closing duties equally on rotation. On rare occasion this means completing an urgent care appointment or emergency surgery after our 5pm close time. This job is very rewarding but also quite busy

You will be on your feet most of the day for this job. You must be able to repeatedly lift up to 50lbs. Scrubs are required clothing and a spare set should be available in case of accidents.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent. Previous animal care experience required; must have minimum 12 months experience in veterinary practice. Must be able to read and accurately follow instructions. Three references required.
Duties:
Safely restrain cats and dogs for physical exams and procedures such as blood draw, IV catheter placement, imaging (x-ray and ultrasound), wound treatment, among many others. Run in-house laboratory work and prepare outgoing samples for reference laboratory evaluation. You will be handling veterinary biological samples including blood, urine, and feces. Clean and sterilize surgical instruments. Clean patient kennels and bedding. Maintain safe and clean environment (sanitize counters and floors, wash patient dishes, remove garbage). In addition, you will schedule appointments, manage patient data, and document financial transactions using computer software.
