Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our dynamic veterinary team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional animal care, assist with medical procedures, and support veterinarians in delivering top-quality veterinary services. Your expertise in animal handling, clinical procedures, and veterinary terminology will help ensure our patients receive compassionate and comprehensive care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of animals, including dogs, cats, equines, and small mammals, in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals and staff during examinations or treatments. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain detailed records of animal health histories, treatments, and procedures while adhering to veterinary terminology standards. Manage animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning kennels and rooms, and monitoring animal physiology to promote optimal health. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing pet dental care tasks like cleaning and oral examinations. Operate radiography (X-ray) equipment safely to obtain diagnostic images for various species including dogs, cats, and equines. Handle pet grooming and pet care activities that enhance overall well-being and comfort of the animals in our care. Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs and assisting with emergency interventions when necessary. Experience Proven veterinary experience working with small animal species in a veterinary setting. Veterinary technician or assistant experience with a strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology. Hands-on experience with animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures. Laboratory experience including sample collection and analysis is required. Knowledge of dog and cat handling skills including safe and kind restraint techniques is needed. Prior exposure to veterinary critical care environments demonstrates your ability to perform under pressure. Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
