Work independently under these guidelines in a teaching environment including providing quasi-instruction to veterinary students. Facility maintenance for the unit and temporary support to other VMTH departments at times may be required.

• For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Must obtain a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 3 months of date of hire No minimum education required.

Experience independently providing intense moment to moment monitoring and reassessment of emergent, critically ill, or anesthetized patients. Experience working in a small animal clinic as a veterinary technician or as a veterinary assistant. Experience giving medications and using patient monitoring equipment. Experience drawing blood samples. Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to interact with a diverse group of students, staff, clinicians and clients and recognize and manage difficult/unpleasant situations and/or individuals. Preferred Qualifications Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license. Experience in the placement of a multi-lumen catheters in either a peripheral or central vein and utilize proper technique(s) to secure and maintain the catheter. Experience training and directing. Its primary objectives are to train professional (veterinary) students, graduate clinical students (interns and residents), and graduate academic students; to provide veterinary services to the public; to serve as a referral center for practicing veterinarians, and to advance veterinary medical knowledge.
