HERE'S THE JOB DESCRIPTION

Animal Care Technician Location:

Pay Rate:

 $22•24/hr•depending on experience

Length:

 6 months contract with the possibility of extension or conversion to full-time

Hours:

 Monday through Friday 6:00am-2:30pm 100% on-site• must be fully vaccinated or participate in daily questionnaire and protocols. Parking is covered by agency 3 must haves: Must have demonstrated ability to handle and move the variety of metal racks with or without caging and other facility equipment. Proven ability up to lift, push, pull and move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to lift, push, pull and move up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

LAB

ANIMAL HUSBANDRY CARE

This position provides animal husbandry services to research animals housed in ULAR facilities and provide nutritional needs of a variety of animal species. Daily maintenance of animal facility following established industry standards and ULAR's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Review assigned areas for items or activities that might raise protocol or regulatory compliance concerns. Upon discovery, remedy those that relate to the duties of Animal Technician, and report all others to supervisor or lead technician. Transport animals, cages, supplies, and equipment to various campus locations as directed by supervisor or lead technician.

ANIMAL HEALTH MONITORING & RECORD KEEPING

Identify and report all sick and unhealthy animals to supervisor/ lead technician/veterinary staff. Assist in animal health screening programs as assigned. Perform regularly scheduled record keeping duties, including cage census, feed/service logs, temperature/humidity charts, and receipts/packing slips, as directed by supervisor or lead technician. Other duties as assigned.
