Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary procedures, with a passion for providing exceptional medical support. In this role, you will assist veterinarians in delivering comprehensive healthcare, perform diagnostic tests, and ensure the well-being of our feline patients through expert handling and clinical skills. Duties

• Anesthesia induction by IV or inhalation
• Application of casts and splints
• Perform dental prophy, dental radiographs, charting, and extractions with the coordination of the DVM.
• Ability to generate an accurate estimated treatment plan for patient procedures (outpatient and inpatient, surgery and dental)
• Suturing of existing skin incisions.
• Supervises anesthetic monitoring and recovery of patients
• Place IV catheters
• Ensure clients are promptly contacted and given test results. Make test results readily available to doctors.
• Ability to draw blood from all veins
• Actively monitors, performs treatments, and provides nursing care for hospitalized and surgical patients.
• Maintains whiteboard orders and treatments for hospitalized patients
• Performs radiographs
• Performs laboratory procedures, runs lab machines, urinalysis, and blood smears.
• Ensures that appropriate take-home instructions are complete and that report cards are complete to fully educate clients on their pet's healthcare needs.
• Prepare exam rooms and patients for outpatient visits. Keep exam rooms stocked with appropriate supplies and instruments.
• Assists in restraining animals for procedures performed by the doctor or technicians.
• General cleaning of public areas, including exam rooms, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, treatment, and surgery, to maintain a clean, odorless, and attractive environment.
• Process pharmacy prescriptions. Maintain order in the pharmacy inventory and stay up to date on new medications and products routinely prescribed.
• Assist in medical or surgical procedures.
• Performs medical procedures and treatments as directed by the doctor.
• Maintain hospitalization/treatment records for each patient.
• Ensure that charges are entered and correct for medical/hospitalized and surgical cases.
• Maintains patient medical records, including all communication with clients.
• Admit and discharge patients per the doctor's orders. Ensure that clients are educated about their pet's health care needs, discuss medication and dosing, and outline follow-up care and at-home care to be provided.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor them during surgery and recovery. Assist as needed during surgical procedures. Administer fluids and perform supportive therapy to patients during surgery and post-op.
• Properly clean, prepare, and sterilize surgical areas and surgical instruments. Keep surgical areas stocked and prepared.
• Participate in staff training and staff meetings.
