San Geronimo Valley Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our friendly, tight-knit team—full-time or part-time. This is a hands-on role where you'll be actively involved in patient care from start to finish—working closely with veterinarians, supporting procedures, and building relationships with both patients and their owners. We're looking for someone dependable, communicative, emotionally mature and committed to contributing to a respectful, supportive, low-drama workplace. This position involves the physical and emotional demands typical of veterinary medicine. Team members should be comfortable standing for extended periods, assisting with patient restraint, lifting and bending, moving efficiently throughout the clinic, and safely handling animals of varying sizes.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with exams by taking vital signs (TPR) and gathering patient history Support surgeries from prep to recovery, including sterile setup and assisting during procedures Monitor anesthesia and ensure patient safety throughout procedures Provide post-operative care, including monitoring, medications, and comfort Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed Collect blood, urine, and other samples for testing Run in-house lab diagnostics (CBC, urinalysis, etc.) Take and process digital X-rays Educate and communicate with pet owners about care, treatment plans, and prevention Maintain accurate medical records Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats Work closely with your team to keep the clinic running smoothly, step in to support others when needed, and communicate clearly throughout the day Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment Assist with inventory and supply management
