Overview We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who enjoys working for a private family owned practice. The ideal candidate should have interest in Dental procedures and thorough understanding of anesthesia techniques and safety protocols. Furthermore, they should possess a strong background in veterinary medicine, animal handling, and technical procedures, contributing to our first class standard of care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a progressive clinic committed to excellence in pet health. Responsibilities
  • Handle and process daily cases, triage
  • Demonstrate necessary skills and techniques for procedures and radiology
  • Create and review estimates with clients for procedures both inpatient and outpatient
  • Patient care (phlebotomy, IVC placement, medication administration, nursing care)
  • Assist doctors with patient care and examinations
  • Have confidence in calculating medication doses
  • Perform In-house lab work and facilitate sending outside lab work for review
  • Induce, maintain/monitor, troubleshoot, and recover patients from general anesthesia
  • Organize and maintain hospitalized cases and medical records
  • Communicate treatment plans, patient status, and discharge instructions to owners
  • Answer emergency calls in a professional manner
  • Comfortable performing financial transactions and taking deposits from clients
  • Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
  • Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Applicant must be able to multitask efficiently
  • Experience as a veterinary technician greater than 1yr (Required)
  • Must have a desire to lead and train staff Skills Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy across species such as dogs, cats, and equines.
Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment scheduling. Expertise in dental terminology, dental procedures, and oral health assessments. Experience in emergency medicine and critical & intensive care settings for animals requiring urgent attention. Skilled in radiology diagnostics including X-ray interpretation and diagnostic imaging techniques. Ability to perform veterinary laboratory work such as sample collection, analysis, and diagnostic testing. Excellent animal handling skills with a focus on restraint techniques for various species. Effective client communication skills to educate pet owners about health issues and treatment options.
Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 36.0 per week
