Pay Range:

We're looking for a dedicated Instrument Technician to join our team at our busy 24-hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital. Every successful surgery begins long before the patient enters the operating room. As our Instrument Technician, you'll play an essential role behind the scenes by ensuring surgical instruments, equipment, and operating rooms are impeccably cleaned, sterilized, organized, and ready for every procedure. Your attention to detail directly supports exceptional patient care and helps our surgical teams perform at their best. What You'll Do Clean, inspect, and process surgical instruments using ultrasonic cleaners, instrument milk, and sterilization equipment. Properly package instruments using the appropriate indicators, pouches, and sterilization containers. Operate and maintain autoclaves while ensuring all sterilization protocols are followed. Obtain certification to safely operate the EO Gas Sterilizer and independently process gas sterilization loads. Prepare and clean operating rooms before and after each procedure. Ensure surgery suites remain clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout the day. Maintain back stock of commonly used surgical packs and supplies. Perform routine maintenance on sterilization equipment, including ultrasonic cleaners and autoclaves. Monitor the condition and inventory of surgical instruments, reporting repairs or replacements as needed. Help maintain adequate inventory levels of sterile packs and surgical supplies. Assist with stocking treatment areas and managing laundry for the surgery department. Provide occasional assistance to veterinary technicians with patient restraint and minor treatments when appropriate. Contribute to maintaining a clean, efficient, and collaborative hospital environment while supporting the mission and values of ACCESS. What We're Looking For You have exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. You understand that every instrument must be cleaned, packaged, and sterilized with precision because patient safety depends on it. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining consistent quality. You enjoy supporting others behind the scenes and recognize the important role you play in successful patient outcomes. Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital, human hospital, surgical department, or sterile processing environment is preferred. Experience with sterilization equipment and surgical instrumentation is highly desirable. A passion for cleanliness, organization, and maintaining the highest standards of sterility.
