Location:
ACCESS Pasadena Schedule:
Wed-Sat 8am-6:30pm Pay range: $25
  • 38 / hr (dependent upon experience and skills assessment)
  • Additional weekend and evening differentials
  • Overnight on-call shifts with bonuses regardless of call-in!
Full-time with comprehensive benefits package, CE and licensing reimbursement. Why? We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Surgery department this year! Passionate about pain management and anesthesia? Work with our two board certified surgeons and surgical interns. Practice at the top of your license in our progressive surgical department featuring 6 state of the art surgical suites for advanced soft tissue and orthopedic procedures, 3D printing lab and advanced onsite CT imaging.
Technician Growth :
We care about setting our team up for long term success with our structured onboarding and Level Up program, led by Technician Trainers and Department Leads. This ensures that you are support ed and get paid for the things you learn, increasing your skills and earning potential with each Level achieved. Support for pursuing your VTS is also provided with 3 VTS (with more up and coming!) already working across our ACCESS specialty teams. What you'll do:
Quality Patient Care:
Go beyond basic vitals; think critically to evaluate patient trends, understand normal/abnormal parameters, and proactively care for your patients.
Anesthesia & Analgesia:
Confidently calculate medical dosages, manage CRIs and dilutions for various anesthetic protocols based on ASA status I-V. Confidently utilize surgical ventilators, alert doctors and adjust protocols for patient decompensation when needed for patients under anesthesia.
Surgical Assisting:
Assist with pre, peri and post op preparation and patient care. Maintain strict sterile fields and anticipate the needs of the attending surgeon during advanced soft-tissue and orthopedic procedures.
Diagnostics & Imaging:
Perform advanced radiographic positioning (with an emphasis on orthopedic studies), in house labwork, and run anesthesia for CT/MRI operations.
Collaboration and Compassionate Service:
Obtain detailed medical histories, perform safe patient restraint, and deliver comprehensive, detailed patient rounds for collaborative care during shift hand-offs to ensure continuity of quality care. What we're looking for: Current Registered Veterinary Technician with 3+ years of experience. VTS or interest in pursuing higher certifications in surgery, anesthesia or analgesia a plus. Strong to advanced knowledge and experience around veterinary anesthetic protocols, medical math and pharmacology.
