Cone beam CT operation Dental radiology Dental pathology recognition Tooth-by-tooth examination and charting Regional nerve blocks Root canal therapy and vital pulp therapy support Advanced oral surgery assistance Advanced anesthesia monitoring and patient management Every patient receives a customized anesthetic plan developed in collaboration with a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist. Our anesthetic protocols emphasize patient safety, critical thinking, and a comprehensive understanding of anesthetic management. What We Are Looking For We are seeking an RVT who can work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

A positive attitude and strong work ethic Excellent attention to detail Professional communication with clients and team members Strong organizational and time-management skills The ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities efficiently Accountability and follow-through on assigned tasks A commitment to maintaining a clean, organized work environment A desire for continued learning and professional development The ability to accept feedback and continually improve Required Qualifications Current California RVT license in good standing Minimum two years of veterinary technician experience preferred Specialty, anesthesia, dentistry, or surgery experience is highly desirable Experience with EzyVet is a plus Minimum Technical Skills Required Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Clinical Skills Scaling and polishing of teeth using ultrasonic scaler and hand instruments Venipuncture and blood collection Urine collection techniques IV catheter placement Medication administration via IV, IM, SQ, and PO routes Endotracheal intubation Patient restraint and handling Medical calculations and drug dosing Operation of in-house laboratory equipment Anesthesia Skills Induction, maintenance, and recovery of anesthetic patients Multiparameter anesthetic monitoring Recognition of common anesthetic complications Accurate documentation of anesthetic records Administration of anesthetic and supportive medications under veterinarian direction Ability to recognize changing patient conditions and communicate concerns promptly Workflow & Team Skills Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining patient safety Timely completion of medical records and treatment documentation Preparation of medications, supplies, and discharge instructions Ability to maintain efficiency in a fast-paced specialty environment Consistent adherence to established protocols and workflows Join the Team at Whiskers Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery Whiskers Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician to join our specialty practice in Petaluma, California. Our veterinarians are Dr. Chris Carter, Board-Certified Veterinary Dentist, and Dr. Hannahbess Thomson-Laing, residency-trained in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. We also work closely with board-certified veterinary anesthesiologists under the leadership of Dr. Martin Kennedy to provide advanced anesthetic care for our patients. This position is ideal for an RVT who enjoys dentistry, anesthesia, specialty medicine and is looking for a long-term opportunity with professional growth and increasing responsibility. Schedule Four 10-hour shifts per week Compensation $32-$35 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated competency.
