TruVet Specialty & Emergency Hospital is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to help lead the clinical development of our new one doctor Wellness & Urgent Care service. This is an exciting opportunity for a technician who enjoys leadership, mentoring others, and building strong clinical teams while remaining actively involved in patient care. As the Head RVT, you will partner closely with our Assistant Practice Manager to establish clinical standards, develop workflows, train support staff, and help create an exceptional experience for both patients and clients. What You'll Do As the clinical leader for our Wellness & Urgent Care support staff, you will help establish and maintain the foundation of a high-performing nursing team.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing clinical leadership, mentorship, and daily coaching for Veterinary Assistants Leading the training, onboarding, and competency development of new assistants Assisting with patient care, treatment plans, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory procedures, radiology, dentistry, and urgent care cases Supporting the development and oversight of our dentistry program, including workflow, equipment, and staff training Monitoring patient care quality and ensuring consistency with hospital protocols Promoting efficient patient flow and workflow improvements throughout the department Assisting with inventory management, equipment readiness, and treatment area organization Providing exceptional client education while promoting compassionate, high-quality patient care This role combines leadership with hands-on nursing, making it ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring others while remaining actively involved in patient care. Qualifications Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required Minimum of three years of progressive clinical veterinary experience Previous leadership, training, mentoring, or lead technician experience preferred Strong technical skills including anesthesia monitoring, dentistry, radiology, laboratory procedures, patient nursing, venipuncture, catheter placement, and client education Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining exceptional patient care Experience developing workflows, training staff, or improving clinical processes is highly desirable Positive, collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring others Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support our team members and encourage long-term professional growth.
Pay Range:
