Position Summary The Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) plays a key role in supporting our veterinarian in all aspects of clinical care. This position involves direct patient care, client education, and assisting in surgical, dental, and laboratory procedures. Ideal candidates are dependable, compassionate professionals who take pride in their technical skills and enjoy working in a close-knit, forward-thinking team. Key Responsibilities Assist the veterinarian during examinations, surgeries, and dental procedures Perform laboratory testing (bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal exams, cytology) and maintain accurate medical records Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed Place and maintain IV catheters , monitor anesthesia, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures Perform radiographs with proper restraint and positioning Provide skilled animal handling and restraint to minimize stress and maintain safety Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress post-surgery Educate clients on preventive care, medications, and follow-up instructions Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam, surgical, and treatment areas Participate in inventory management and maintain sterile surgical packs Support the veterinarian and team in ensuring exceptional client and patient experiences Qualifications Current California RVT license (required) Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred (new graduates welcome to apply) Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring, catheter placement, and laboratory diagnostics Strong understanding of veterinary terminology , pharmacology, aseptic technique, and medication calculations Excellent communication and teamwork skills Compassionate, professional, and detail-oriented approach to patient care Comfortable in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and composure Familiarity with veterinary software (AVImark experience a plus) Why Join Arrow Animal Hospital?
