As a trusted animal clinic in San Jose, we provide general practice care and wellness services to pets throughout Cambrian Park, Willow Glen, and Campbell. Our doctors, technicians, and medical staff operate like family — and we're looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who shares our commitment to exceptional care. What We're Looking For Active California RVT license A.S. in Veterinary Technology (or equivalent) Minimum 3 years of clinical experience required ; experience in small animal general practice preferred Strong anesthesia monitoring and dental skills Comfortable in urgent care and fast-paced settings Proficiency with practice management systems (Idexx Neo preferred) Excellent communication and client education skills Calm, professional demeanor during medical emergencies Team player mindset — no gossip, strong collaboration Why Acacia Pet Clinic? Supportive, family-oriented culture Collaborative doctor + technician team model Opportunities for continuing education Competitive pay Make a meaningful difference in your community What You'll Do Clinical & Surgical Support Assist veterinarians during exams and surgical procedures Administer and monitor anesthesia under veterinarian direction Monitor surgical recovery and ensure patient comfort Perform dental cleanings and assist with extractions Provide emergency first aid and life-saving procedures when needed Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments Diagnostics & Laboratory Draw blood and collect diagnostic samples Perform in-house lab testing (CBCs, urinalysis, parasite tests, etc.) Take and process diagnostic radiographs Maintain and calibrate lab equipment Patient & Client Care Educate clients on vaccines (core vs. elective), preventative care, and post-operative instructions Communicate clearly and compassionately about treatment plans Create a positive experience for both pets and owners Handle client concerns with empathy and professionalism Clinic Operations Maintain accurate medical records Monitor controlled substances and pharmaceutical inventory Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment Support team training and participate in continuing education Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the day Physical stamina to assist with animal restraint and procedures We believe in doing anything possible for our patients and the owners who love them.
