Why Our Veterinary Assistants Love Oakridge Veterinary Clinic Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunities for continued learning and professional growth Meaningful work helping pets and the people who love them Variety in your day with both patient care and clinical responsibilities Leadership that values teamwork, communication, and employee success A workplace focused on compassion, quality medicine, and exceptional care What You'll Do Provide compassionate care for hospitalized and boarding patients, including feeding, walking, monitoring, and maintaining comfort Safely restrain patients and assist with examinations, treatments, surgeries, radiology, and dental procedures Clean and disinfect exam rooms, kennels, treatment areas, and surgical spaces Prepare and maintain surgical packs and medical equipment according to hospital protocols Perform basic in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratories Administer oral medications and assist with prescribed treatments as directed Support patient admissions and discharges while maintaining accurate medical records Educate clients on products, preventive care, and treatment recommendations Collaborate with doctors and team members to provide exceptional patient care and client service What Our Veterinary Technicians Bring Previous Veterinary Assistant experience required Knowledge of proper patient handling and restraint techniques Understanding of laboratory procedures and treatment preparation Experience with veterinary instruments, equipment care, and sterilization procedures Strong communication and client service skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently while supporting a team-focused culture Financial Benefits A flexible approach to compensation that reflects your skill set and future performance 401(k) matching & Roth Retirement Savings Plan Flexible Spending Account (full-time only) 529 Savings Plan Tuition Support Program (full-time only) Referral bonus program Wellness Benefits Health Insurance, including medical, dental, and vision (full-time only) Supplemental insurance, including accident, critical illness, hospital, short and long-term disability, legal plan, and employee, spouse, and child-dependent life insurance (full-time only) Up to three weeks of full pay for the birth or adoption of a child (full-time employees only; available after one year of service).
