  • 42/hour Full-Time | Tuesday-Friday | 7:30 AM-5:30 PM Veterinary Specialty Hospital North County is seeking a California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Ophthalmology team.

Working alongside our Board-Certified Ophthalmologist, you'll provide specialized nursing and anesthesia support for patients undergoing advanced ophthalmic diagnostics, treatments, and surgery. This is an excellent opportunity for an RVT interested in specialty medicine, anesthesia, surgery, and developing advanced technical skills. Why Join Our Ophthalmology Team Veterinary Ophthalmology combines advanced diagnostics, anesthesia, surgery, and patient care. You'll support patients with conditions ranging from corneal ulcers and glaucoma to cataracts and emergency eye conditions while helping preserve vision, comfort, and quality of life. In Your Day-to-Day, You Will Assist the Ophthalmologist with appointments, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and surgery. Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement. Calculate and administer medications, fluids, and CRIs. Prepare patients for ophthalmic procedures and provide sterile surgical preparation. Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia and sedation. Closely monitor patients throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes in anesthetic status. Provide exceptional nursing care, patient advocacy, and client education. Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with doctors and team members throughout patient care. What You Bring Active California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license required. Minimum two years of veterinary clinical experience. Strong anesthesia knowledge and hands-on anesthesia experience. Confidence with anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery. Strong medication, fluid, and CRI calculation skills. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative specialty team. Ophthalmology, Surgery, Anesthesia, Emergency, Critical Care, or other Specialty experience is a plus but not required.
