Veterinary Technician

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with a focus on providing high-quality veterinary services. This role involves working closely with veterinarians to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their visit. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures Perform laboratory tests and analyze results, including blood work and urinalysis Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient Provide excellent patient care through animal handling, restraint, and catheterization Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures Prepare animals for surgery and monitor them during recovery Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including adherence to aseptic techniques Handle various species with confidence, including dogs, cats, and equine patients Qualifications Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices Proficiency in laboratory techniques and the ability to perform X-rays Strong skills in dog handling, animal restraint, and overall animal care Excellent communication skills for educating clients about pet health needs A commitment to providing compassionate care to all animals in our facility Must be willing to work Saturdays If you are passionate about animal welfare and have the skills necessary to thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.

Pay:

$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
