Murphy Avenue Pet Clinic located a stone's throw from the historic Murphy Ave district in Sunnyvale, CA is looking to grow our team. Our ambition is simple - be the hospital we want to take our own pets to! What you'll be doing: Under the direction of the Partner and Associate Veterinarians, in cooperation with the Registered Veterinary Technician and Client Support teams, you will lead the clinical floor and provide support for pet appointments and hospital admissions to include physical examinations, therapeutic procedures, diagnostics, and husbandry care. In addition, you will play a key role in ensuring our pet and pet parents have a five-star experience. The nitty gritty (in case you want the specific!): Provide safe but compassionate restraint of patients for physical examinations, treatments, and procedures; Obtain patient vitals - recognize and communicate abnormalities to attending veterinarian; Interact with clients in person and via phone to obtain vital patient information; Provide client education and instruction regarding recommended prophylactic and prescribed care in a positive, receptive manner; Prepare and administer medication/vaccination/treatment via topical, oral, submucosal, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intravenous routes as directed by the Veterinarians; Obtain radiographs of patients utilizing appropriate positioning and safety techniques; Perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine and/or feces, or prepare samples for shipment to an outside laboratory; Clean & sterilize instruments, equipment and other materials as instructed; Assist with anesthesia as directed; identify and appropriately respond to abnormal or unhealthy responses to anesthesia; monitor anesthetic recovery as directed; Assist with dental procedures, including prophylactic cleaning, polishing, dentition charting, and radiography as directed by the Veterinarian; Assist surgical procedures, including patient preparation and recovery as directed by the Veterinarian. Help maintain the hospital in a clean and professional manner.
Pay:
$35.00 - $38.00 per hour
