Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this vital role, you will assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, provide compassionate animal handling, and ensure the highest standards of pet care. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to a positive, efficient, and caring environment for every patient that walks through our doors. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both pets and staff during examinations and treatments. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines to support accurate diagnoses. Manage pet care routines including grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring animal physiology to promote well-being. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files with treatment notes, vaccination history, and laboratory results. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning, polishing, and oral examinations. Handle animal catheterization, venipuncture, and other veterinary critical care tasks with precision and compassion. Assist with pet grooming and dog training activities to improve animal comfort and behavior in the clinic setting. Experience Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal husbandry work demonstrating familiarity with pet care routines. Veterinary technician experience or related veterinary practice background showcasing knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures. Experience working with animals in various settings such as clinics or farms, including equine experience preferred but not required. Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary critical care practices to support comprehensive patient treatment. Proficiency in laboratory techniques, X-ray operation, and aseptic techniques essential for diagnostic support. Strong dog handling skills along with animal restraint expertise to ensure safe interactions during examinations or treatments. Familiarity with pet grooming techniques and dog training methods to enhance overall pet well-being in our care environment.
