  • Part-time, Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary surgery team.
In this vital role, you will work with Dr. Imhoff and his team to provide compassionate animal care, assist with surgical procedures, including anesthesia and post-op care, and ensure a smooth operation within our surgical animal healthcare facility. Your expertise will help improve the health and well-being of a our small animals patients and their owners, in a fast-paced environment that values teamwork and excellent patient care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your veterinary skills and grow professionally while making a meaningful difference in animal lives. Duties Assist surgery team during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing animals and equipment. Perform animal restraint and handling using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and analyze results to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. Maintain aseptic technique during procedures such as animal catheterization and wound management to prevent infection. Take radiographs (X-ray) and assist with restraint. Care for animals during exams, surgery prep, anesthesia and post-op care and monitoring. Support pet owners with education on animal care, surgical procedures, surgical recovery and post-operative management. Qualifications Previous kennel experience or animal handling background is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary critical care practices. Experience with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, and aseptic techniques is desirable. Ability to perform animal catheterization and restraint confidently while demonstrating excellent pet care skills. Knowledge of dog handling techniques. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners about animal health needs.
