We are looking for:
Internal Medicine Certified Veterinary Technician (RVT) The Internal Medicine technician is highly trained and proficient in basic and advanced technical skills, communication and record keeping. A must have is anesthesia experiance You would work closely with the veterinarian to conduct a plethora of diagnostic tests and treatments. The duties and responsibilities of the Technician varies greatly depending on the needs of the patient. Internal medicine patients may have a wide range of conditions including cancers, heart disease, chronic medical conditions, neurologic conditions and many others. Technicians have an opportunity to develop close relationships with patients and clients because in many cases, the patients have chronic disease conditions requiring ongoing management. What you'll do: Obtain patient histories and complete medical records Perform venipuncture, diagnostic imaging, calculate and administer medications, blood pressure measurement Perform anesthetic induction, maintenance, and monitoring Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (foreign object retrieval, diagnostic endoscopy) and other procedures (CT scans, bone marrow biopsies, feeding tube placement, endotracheal washes, arthrocentesis) Prepare and review patient discharge instructions and provide client education Who you are: State Certified Veterinary Technician license preferred Prior veterinary experience required, previous Internal Medicine or other specialty experience desired Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.) Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills
