Job Description

Assists veterinarians in providing medical care and treatment for animals, and exceptional customer service to patrons. This position works directly with both shelter animals and community members and their pets to provide high quality, affordable veterinary care.
Responsibilities include:
Provide client care by scheduling appointments, taking payments, and checking-in clients. Maintain excellent client communication. Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in the patient record accurately with appropriate grammar, terms, and accurate information. Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, and administer
IV/IM/SQ
injections and fluids Induce, monitor, and recover patients from anesthesia Monitor vital signs (TPR, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, ECG, capnography) Provide peri-operative and post-operative nursing care Assist with dental cleanings and take dental radiographsCollect and process laboratory samples (CBC, chem panels, urinalysis, fecals, cytology) Perform radiographs and position animals safely Place urinary catheters, bandages, splints, and wound care Assist with emergency and critical care (triage, CPR, oxygen therapy, shock protocols) Other duties as assigned.
