Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians in delivering comprehensive medical services, assist with diagnostics, and ensure the well-being of a diverse range of animals. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining sterile fields, and providing animal restraint. Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring vital signs to ensure optimal health. Conduct laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses. Handle animal restraint safely and effectively, utilizing knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to minimize stress and injury. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files, and document treatments using veterinary terminology. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments via appropriate techniques such as animal catheterization or injections. Operate diagnostic equipment including X-ray machines and assist with imaging procedures to aid in diagnosis. Support pet owners with pet care advice, behavioral training (such as dog training), and pet grooming tips to promote overall wellness. Ensure aseptic techniques are followed during all procedures to prevent infections and maintain a sterile environment. Assist with equine care when needed, including handling horses safely and understanding equine-specific veterinary practices. Skills Proven kennel experience with animals of various sizes and temperaments. Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures related to pet dental health. Veterinary critical care experience is highly valued for handling emergency situations effectively. Laboratory experience involving sample collection, processing, and analysis for diagnostic purposes. Familiarity with veterinary terminology related to anatomy, physiology, pathology, and treatment protocols. Skilled in animal handling techniques that prioritize safety for both animals and staff. Experience with X-ray operation and interpretation enhances diagnostic capabilities. Ability to train dogs in basic commands or behavior modification techniques when needed. $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
