Job Description :
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our veterinarians in providing the highest standard of care for our patients. You will work with a team of professionals to provide medical, surgical, and emergency care, as well as offer support to pet owners.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist doctors in appointments and emergencies - acquiring pertinent medical history, vitals, animal restraint, vaccinations. Perform blood collection, IV catheter placement efficiently and sterilely. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian. Knowledge of dosing and administration route protocols and common contraindications. Assist veterinarians in all aspects during surgical procedures: pre-medication, operating or dental room setup, patient induction, preparation and maintenance of general anesthesia, surgical monitoring, surgical assisting, recovery, post op orders, pain management protocols. Monitor and care for hospitalized animals, providing routine treatments and observing their condition. Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis. Take and process radiographs (X-rays). Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information. Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and medical conditions. Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment. Ensure a clean and organized clinic environment.
Qualifications :
Certification in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program is a plus, but not required. Previous experience, as a Veterinary Technician, in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Proficiency with veterinary software and medical equipment. Pay:
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour
