What You'll Do As a Veterinary Technician, you'll work closely with our veterinarian and support team to provide high-quality medical care and an exceptional experience for our clients and their pets.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assist the veterinarian during exams, treatments, procedures, and surgeries. Obtain and accurately document patient histories, vital signs, and other medical information. Safely and compassionately restrain patients using low-stress handling techniques whenever possible. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Perform diagnostic procedures including blood draws, bloodwork, urinalysis, and radiographs. Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures and surgery. Monitor patients and communicate changes or concerns promptly to the veterinarian. Explain medications, treatment instructions, and follow-up care to pet owners under the direction of the veterinarian. Maintain complete and accurate patient medical records. Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment and treatment areas. Restock exam rooms and treatment areas and assist with inventory management. Follow OSHA requirements, safety procedures, and clinic protocols. Support your teammates and step in where needed to keep the clinic running smoothly. Participate in training and professional development opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Technical skills matter, but how you work with people and animals matters just as much . You may be a great fit if you: Have at least 1 year of Veterinary Technician experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or similar environment. Are comfortable with animal handling and restraint. Have working knowledge of animal care, anatomy, pharmacology, and veterinary terminology. Have experience assisting with diagnostics, treatments, and procedures. Are comfortable using veterinary software and electronic medical records. Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and coworkers. Can stay organized and focused while managing multiple priorities. Take initiative and look for solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do. Can work independently while also being a supportive member of the team. Handle feedback professionally and communicate respectfully, even during stressful situations. Understand the importance of dependable attendance and arriving ready to contribute. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a Veterinary Assistant or Technician program is preferred but not required for the right experienced candidate. Candidates must be able to:
Lift and carry up to 50 pounds . Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions.
