Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced technician for our small close knit veterinary hospital. We are seeking someone who is positive, upbeat, and a self-motivated team player. Someone that enjoys working in the field of veterinary medicine. Must be outgoing and friendly to ensure our clients have the best experience possible. Preferred training in the following areas: anesthesia induction including monitoring ECG, blood pressure and pulse oximetry, preparing and autoclaving surgery packs, performing dentals, taking digital radiographs including dental radiographs, venipuncture, placing IV catheters, running lab work on Abaxis machines. Must also be physically capable of lifting and carrying 50+ pounds and also able to bend down for long periods of time. Must have familiarity with routine vaccine protocols, in-house diagnostics such as IDEXX snap test, urinalysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, and skin scraping. Must also have knowledge of common medications and flea/heartworm control. Experience with Avimark veterinary software is beneficial. In accordance with being a team player, this job also includes: greeting clients when they come in, checking clients in and out, answering the phone as needed, cleaning duties around the hospital, gathering medications for clients, unpacking/restocking medications and products, walking and bathing dogs, and documenting SOAP format notes.
