$19.00 - $21.00 / hour Description Ranch Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician (Vet Tech) to join our fast-paced small animal general practice in Bradenton, FL. We are looking for a skilled, hands-on veterinary professional who is confident in patient care, anesthesia support, exam room workflow, and client communication . This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys a balanced mix of clinical medicine, surgery support, and outpatient appointments in a collaborative hospital environment. What You'll Do As a Veterinary Technician , you will support veterinarians and ensure high-quality patient care across all phases of treatment: Exam Room & Patient Care Obtain patient history, vitals, and medical records Assist in exam room appointments and client communication Provide patient restraint and handling for small animals Educate clients on treatment plans and discharge instructions Clinical & Technical Skills Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection Run and process in-house laboratory diagnostics Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments Maintain accurate medical documentation and records Surgical & Anesthesia Support Assist with surgical and dental procedures Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery Prepare surgical instruments and maintain sterile technique Hospital Support Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes Assist with radiographs and diagnostic imaging Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area Required Skills and Qualifications 1+ year veterinary clinical experience required (small animal preferred) Strong skills in: Patient restraint Venipuncture Exam room workflow Medical record documentation Client communication Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary hospital Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork Positive, professional, and patient-focused mindset Credentialed Veterinary Technician ( CVT / LVT / RVT ) Experience in surgery and anesthesia monitoring Dental or radiology experience Fear Free or low-stress handling experience Experience in general practice or urgent care setting This role requires the ability to: Lift and/or restrain animals up to 50 lbs Stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout shifts Work safely around animals of varying temperaments Be exposed to dander, disinfectants, cleaning chemicals, and hospital environments Use computers and electronic medical records for extended periods What We Offer We offer a competitive and supportive package for full-time team members: Competitive hourly pay ($19.00-$21.00/hr, negotiable based on experience) Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off (PTO) + Paid Holidays Employee Pet Care Discounts Continuing Education & Professional Development Career Growth Opportunities Mental Health & Wellness Support Resources Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Headstart Student Loan Assistance Available for Eligible CVT' s.
