Ranch Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our small animal general practice team in Bradenton, Florida . If you're a Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Nurse, or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) who enjoys combining hands-on patient care with meaningful client relationships, Ranch offers an opportunity to do more than simply get through the day. We're looking for someone with at least 2 years of veterinary clinical experience who is confident in a busy hospital environment and ready to bring their skills, judgment, and personality to a team that values them. What You'll Do As a Veterinary Technician , you will support veterinarians and ensure high-quality patient care across all phases of treatment: Exam Room & Patient Care Obtain patient history, vitals, and medical records Assist in exam room appointments and client communication Provide patient restraint and handling for small animals Educate clients on treatment plans and discharge instructions Clinical & Technical Skills Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection Run and process in-house laboratory diagnostics Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments Maintain accurate medical documentation and records Surgical & Anesthesia Support Assist with surgical and dental procedures Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery Prepare surgical instruments and maintain sterile technique Hospital Support Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes Assist with radiographs and diagnostic imaging Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient treatment area The Technician We're Looking For We're looking for someone who brings clinical confidence, compassion, and a genuine passion for patient and client care . You'll be a strong fit if you are: Experienced in small animal veterinary medicine Confident with restraint, venipuncture, IVC placement, and exam room workflow Organized, dependable, and comfortable prioritizing in a fast-paced hospital A strong communicator who works well with clients, patients, and teammates Comfortable working independently while knowing when to ask for support Committed to low-stress, compassionate patient handling Comfortable handling animals of varying sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions, including fearful or fractious patients A positive teammate who wants to contribute to a strong hospital culture Veterinary medicine is active, hands-on work. This position requires the ability to lift, carry, and restrain animals up to 50 pounds with assistance available for heavier patients; stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and reach throughout a shift; and safely handle patients in a busy clinical environment. You'll also perform tasks such as cleaning, disinfecting, stocking, instrument preparation, and maintaining treatment areas , while using computers and electronic medical records. The role includes routine exposure to animal hair, dander, bodily fluids, medications, cleaning products, and other veterinary materials , with PPE and appropriate safety protocols used as required. Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT) are encouraged to apply. Experience with surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, radiology, Fear Free/low-stress handling, or urgent care is a plus.
