Job Description

Our AAHA accredited veterinary hospital is seeking a skilled, experienced and caring Veterinary Technician/Nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
Join our dynamic team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners! As a Veterinary Technician/Nurse in our fast-paced general veterinary practice and urgent care facility, you will play a crucial role in providing top-notch care to our patients. Working alongside our skilled veterinarians and support staff, you'll utilize your expertise and experience to ensure efficient and compassionate treatment. Assist veterinarians in examinations, in-patient and out-patient care, laboratory duties, treatments, drug dosages and dispensing, medical procedures and surgeries, dentistry, medical record notation with accuracy of diagnostic findings and patient histories. Administrative duties, inventory, OSHA awareness and compliance, maintain a practical knowledge of hospitals procedures, services and policies. Support practice and fellow team members at all times with patient housekeeping duties throughout the facility while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a sterile environment. Must display extraordinary customer service and be able to educate clients on preventative care, medication administration and post-treatment instructions. Communicate effectively with clients (pet parents) addressing their concerns and answering inquiries. Assist with scheduling of medical procedures. Work collaboratively with staff members to provide seamless patient care while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Proficiency in performing common veterinary procedures such as venipuncture, catheter placement and anesthesia monitoring. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to client interactions. Flexibility and willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and medical staff. Safely lift 30 to 50 pounds and proper ability to restraint animals are required as well. Experience working as a Veterinary Technician or Nurse in a veterinary hospital or clinic setting preferred. Certification a plus or equal experience!
