We are currently looking for a Veterinary Technician to join our team on weekends to help support our growing caseload and ensure pets in our community have access to quality care when they need it most.

Sat & Sun (ER & Urgent Care): 9 AM

- Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Certifed Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team in New Smyrna Beach.

You will play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and client satisfaction.
Mandatory Saturday and Sunday starting at 8:30 am Perform animal restraint using safe and low-stress techniques while maintaining composure in dynamic situationsConduct triage of incoming patients and assess their medical needs with attention to detailCollect, prepare, and analyze laboratory samples, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimensAssist with diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiographic and ultrasound positioning and image capturePrepare surgical sites and provide skilled assistance during surgical proceduresAdminister anesthesia and monitor patients throughout anesthetic procedures with precisionAdminister medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medical recordsProvide compassionate nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients with varying degrees of stabilityCommunicate treatment plans and medical updates to clients in a clear and empathetic mannerMaintain comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care protocols, and hospital operationsSupport the veterinary team in delivering efficient, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrate commitment to professional ethics, animal welfare, and continuous professional developmentQualificationsCVT in the state of Florida, or eligibility to become ceritfied in the state of FloridaMinimum 2+ years of professional veterinary technician experienceConsistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shiftsFlexibility to work weekday shifts as neededDemonstrated expertise in safe animal restraint techniques and low-stress handling methodsProficiency in collecting and analyzing various laboratory samplesExperience with radiographic positioning and diagnostic imaging proceduresCompetency in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoringStrong client communication and medical record management skillsComprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operationsExcellent organizational and time management abilitiesPhysical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards, including bites, scratches, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseasesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians and team membersResilience and stress management capabilities in high-pressure situationsUnwavering commitment to professional ethics, animal welfare, and continuous learningInclusive and empathetic approach to patient and client careAdditional InformationWe offer our staff:
