Job Description

Overview HSMC is a Drug-Free Workplace We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinic Veterinary Technician to join our team Monday-Friday hours, no nights or weekends. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and veterinary practices, demonstrating both technical skills and a genuine love for animals. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting our veterinary staff in delivering exceptional service. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures. Perform animal restraint and catheterization as needed. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results to assist in diagnosis. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide support in dental procedures, utilizing knowledge of dental terminology. Ensure proper handling of animals, including dogs and equines, while maintaining safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, adhering to aseptic techniques. Educate pet owners on animal husbandry, care practices, and preventive health measures. Participate in grooming and training activities as necessary. Requirements 1 year of veterinary technician experience is required. 1 year of surgical assisting and monitoring experience is preferred. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and critical care practices. Experience with laboratory procedures and equipment is highly desirable. Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including dog handling and restraint methods. Experience in radiographs. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
