Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians in delivering comprehensive medical services, assist with surgical procedures, and ensure the highest standards of animal handling and client communication. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment, monitoring anesthesia, and providing surgical support. Conduct animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Perform laboratory work including blood draws, phlebotomy, sample processing, and diagnostic radiology to aid in accurate diagnoses. Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and anesthesia monitors with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Administer medications, IV insertions, catheters, and other treatments following veterinary protocols. Maintain detailed records using veterinary software for patient histories, laboratory results, imaging reports, and treatment plans. Support pet care through feeding, cleaning kennels, monitoring critical & intensive care patients, and assisting with emergency medicine procedures. Communicate effectively with pet owners about animal health needs, treatment plans, and post-procedure care to foster trust and understanding. Qualifications Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary surgical procedures. Experience in veterinary critical care, emergency medicine, or intensive care settings is highly desirable. Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint techniques, vascular access (IV insertion), and animal catheterization. Familiarity with laboratory work including phlebotomy and diagnostic radiology (X-ray). Ability to operate medical equipment safely while maintaining aseptic technique during procedures. Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration. Previous veterinary technician experience or related veterinary experience preferred; certification is a plus but not required.
