Job Description

Experienced Veterinary Technician - Surgical Tech Experience a must Caring Paws Animal Hospital is a state of the art small animal and exotic 2 doctor veterinary practice located in the State Road 54/Suncoast Parkway area of Odessa, FL. We are a private, family owned practice. Dr Danielson has been practicing in the NW Hillsborough county area for over 30 years. He has an excellent reputation and strong relationships in the community. We are seeking a full time experienced veterinary technician. Certification is a plus but not a requirement. In this role you will:
Place catheters, administer injections, take blood and collect samples. Process in house lab specimens Perform x-rays and assist with ultrasounds Interact with clients and patients in a compassionate and professional manner. Follow up with clients regarding patient procedures, medications etc. Take in room patient histories and enter information into practice management software. Provide care to patients in hospital Administer cold laser therapy Educate clients on proper medication administration and other activities. Maintain proper documentation and client information using various practice management software tools. Field client inquiries, gather pertinent information and use established hospital protocols to communicate information to doctors. Work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities. Need to demonstrate the ability to function as a team player. Need to demonstrate the practice's core values of trust, integrity, commitment and compassion toward clients and patients. Need to be able to work Saturdays (7:30 - Noon) on a rotating basis. Work requires lifting, carrying and restraining animals (will be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 40 lbs). Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent or squatting position. May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Requirements Minimum of 3 years experience as a veterinary technician in a client facing environment Computer typing skills required.
