  • Full-time Veterinary Technician Appointment Provider (Credentialed Veterinary Technician) Palencia Pet Clinic Position Overview Palencia Pet Clinic is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) to lead technician-driven appointments designed to support patient care, improve hospital flow, and enhance the partnership between doctors and support staff.
This role allows CVTs to operate at the top of their license by managing routine, follow-up, and preventive care appointments under the direction of a supervising veterinarian. The goal is to improve efficiency, expand access to care, and allow doctors to focus on more complex medical cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Technician-Led Appointments Conduct scheduled technician appointments for: Rechecks and follow-ups Suture/staple removals Routine diagnostics and lab work Medication administration and monitoring Chronic condition check-ins (as directed by DVM) Perform focused patient assessments and document findings for DVM review Escalate concerns or abnormal findings to the veterinarian promptly Patient Care & Clinical Support Perform treatments and procedures within scope of practice and hospital protocols Assist with and/or perform: Sample collection (blood, urine, cytology) Vaccine administration (as permitted) Ear cleanings, nail trims, and minor treatments Ensure all care aligns with established medical protocols and DVM direction Client Communication & Education Provide clear, compassionate communication with clients during appointments Educate clients on: Preventive care and wellness recommendations Medication administration Post-procedure care Behavioral and lifestyle recommendations Reinforce treatment plans established by the veterinarian Hospital Flow & Efficiency Support overall hospital efficiency by: Managing independent appointment blocks Reducing DVM workload for routine care Assisting in maintaining on-time scheduling Collaborate with reception and technician teams to ensure smooth patient flow Documentation & Medical Records Accurately document all patient interactions in medical records (Scribble → Pulse workflow) Ensure all services are properly recorded and communicated to the supervising DVM Maintain compliance with hospital standards and legal requirements Supervision & Collaboration Operates under the direction and supervision of a licensed veterinarian Collaborates closely with: DVMs for case oversight and escalation Technicians and assistants for workflow support Reception team for scheduling and client coordination Qualifications Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) required Strong clinical and technical skills Excellent communication and client education abilities Ability to work independently while maintaining appropriate escalation Comfortable with fast-paced, high-volume environment Preferred Skills Experience with technician appointments or high-efficiency workflow models Strong understanding of preventive care and client compliance strategies Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively Position Impact This role is critical to: Enhancing patient access to care Improving hospital efficiency and workflow Strengthening technician utilization and career growth Supporting a high standard of patient care and client experience Why This Role Matters At Palencia Pet Clinic, we believe in empowering our technicians to practice at the highest level of their training.
