Job Description
Full-time 32-40 hours per week available Clinic hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 5:15 pm (Mondays are required) No nights. No weekends. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role is hands-on, client-focused, and plays an important part in both patient care and daily clinic flow. Proficiency in both English and Portuguese is preferred, as this role involves direct communication with Brazilian clients. Licensure is not required for this role. Experience and skill matter most. What We Do We provide comprehensive care for dogs and cats, including: Wellness and sick pet exams Vaccines and preventive care New puppy and kitten visits Allergy and pain management Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Microchipping End-of-life care For pets requiring surgery, we coordinate with nearby partner practices to ensure continuity of care. Position Overview The Veterinary Technician supports the veterinarian in delivering quality patient care while helping maintain an efficient and positive clinic experience. This role includes assisting with appointments, performing technical duties, educating clients, and supporting the daily flow of the clinic. The ideal candidate is dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working directly with both pets and their owners. Primary Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during exams and treatments Safely restrain and monitor patients during care Administer medications and injections per clinic protocol Perform in-house laboratory procedures including fecal exams, heartworm testing, urinalysis, skin scrapings, and fungal cultures Collect blood samples and maintain accurate patient records Educate clients on wellness, preventive care, and treatment plans Communicate clearly with clients in English and Portuguese when needed Help manage patient appointments from check-in through discharge Support front desk and phone flow when needed Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment areas Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Prior veterinary technician experience required - at least 3 years Strong understanding of animal handling and patient care Excellent communication and client service skills Comfortable working directly with clients in person and by phone Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Detail-oriented with accurate record keeping Comfortable using computers and veterinary software systems Physically able to handle and restrain animals safely Dependable, professional, and team-oriented Reliable transportation and weekday availability required Why easyvet® Magnolia Consistent weekday schedule No surgery or on-call responsibilities Supportive team environment Positive clinic culture focused on collaboration and respect Opportunity to work in a wellness-focused practice that values both pets and people This is a great opportunity for a technician who enjoys client interaction, values teamwork, and wants to work in a structured, supportive clinic environment without the demands of emergency or surgical care.
