Veterinary Pharmacy Technician

VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our 24 hour emergency and specialty hospital in West Palm Beach. About Us VCA Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists was established in 1998 and has flourished from a single-specialty practice into a full-service, multi-disciplinary, specialty-only practice. We reside within a new 32,000 sq. ft. facility, operating 24/7/365, which includes an in-house national reference laboratory, blood bank, and Education Center with a 125-seat auditorium, conference room and meeting hall used to provide continuing education programs. Our Advanced Imaging department offers on-site MRI, CT, C-Arm and Linear Accelerator (Halcyon). Our staff of specialists includes three Surgeons, a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner, an Internist, an Emergency and Critical Care Service, Neurosurgeon, and Radiation Oncologist. Our doctors work closely with our nurses and technical staff to provide optimal patient care, careful client service and open dialogue with referring veterinarians. We are a very integrated practice that uses a team approach to case consultation and management. You will enjoy a diverse and stimulating caseload while employing the most advanced imaging and monitoring tools.

Duties will include:

Dispensing prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals for patient care, according to professional standards and state and federal legal requirements. Calculating drug dosages & preparing medications Reviewing prescriptions issued by DVMs to ensure accuracy Maintaining established procedures concerning quality assurance and security of controlled substances Assisting with control substance reporting requirements Helping to maintain hospital organization and cleanliness Veterinary experience preferred. Flexible schedule will include some weekends and holidays. Pay is competitive, based on level of skill, experience, relevant education and credentials.

Schedule:

Variable, (4) ten hour shifts.

Compensation:

$20
