Experienced Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant Homestead Animal Hospital - Alpharetta, GA Full-Time | $21-$25/hour, based on experience Homestead Animal Hospital is an independently owned small-animal practice in Alpharetta seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who values compassionate, low-stress patient care , client education, and building strong relationships with pet owners. The ideal candidate is comfortable with—or genuinely interested in learning—Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques, while also bringing solid technical skills in surgery, anesthesia, and general patient care. What We're Looking For 2+ years of veterinary experience required Comfortable with or open to learning low-stress/Fear Free handling techniques Strong client communication and education skills Confidence discussing preventive care and helping clients understand recommendations Experience with surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, patient recovery, and perioperative care Comfortable with venipuncture, catheter placement, sample collection, in-house laboratory testing, radiographs, medication administration, and routine treatments Able to assist with wellness, preventive-care, and sick-patient appointments Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail A self-starter who can recognize what needs to be done and take initiative A team player willing to cross-train and assist with CSR duties, including phones, scheduling, client communication, and client transactions Comfortable participating in occasional community events and outreach activities RVT credentialing is welcomed but not required Why Homestead Animal Hospital? Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday:
8:00 AM-5:00
PM Wednesday:
8:00 AM-1:00 PM No weekends, evenings, or on-call shifts. Our schedule is intentionally designed to support a healthy work-life balance while still providing excellent patient care. Compensation $21-$25/hour , depending on experience, technical skill level, and credentialing. We are hoping to fill this position with someone available to start within approximately 2-3 weeks .
