Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are open to an experienced (3+ years) Veterinary Assistant. Hog Mountain Animal Hospital is a small animal practice that also specializes in the medical care and treatment of exotic animals. We offer in-house specialist vet care as we work with a mobile veterinary internist, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgeon. We see sick and well (vaccine) patients, offer cold laser therapy, digital and dental radiology, surgery, bathing, grooming, daycare, and boarding. We prefer at least 3 years' experience with blood draw, placing catheters, and running diagnostics. Must be professional, punctual , reliable, and responsible, eager to learn, work well under pressure, and work well with clients and other team members. Must be able to lift at least 50 lb. and work weekends and holidays. Please visit our website at hogmountiananimal.com to learn more about our services. Responsibilities Include but not limited to Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Collect blood and urine samples. IV catheter placement. Anesthesia monitoring. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian. Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Utilize aseptic techniques to prepare for surgeries and other medical procedures. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the lab area. Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
