Job Description

Prairie View Animal Hospital is proud to be a locally-owned small animal hospital in Grimes, Iowa. We are seeking candidates to fill a veterinary technician position to add to our team. A minimum of 1 year experience working as a veterinary technician or assistant is required . Our practice embraces Fear-Free techniques. We utilize our technicians to their fullest extent, providing a rewarding and fun environment with opportunities to develop new skills and interests. Our practice is equipped with a therapy laser, surgical laser, dental radiography, ultrasound, rigid endoscope, and in-house laboratory machines, allowing us to treat and work with a variety of cases and species.
Duties include:
Patient care Client communication and education Facilitation of out-patient and in-patient appointments Performing lab work and other diagnostics Anesthesia induction and monitoring Surgical preparation of patients Performing dental radiographs and cleanings, including charting and probing Working with veterinary assistants to ensure timely and accurate filling of prescriptions Maintaining detailed medical records What we offer: Starting wage $17-20+/hr depending on experience 4 day work week with no weekends required Employee Assistance Program Employer-paid portion of health insurance Fully paid dental and vision insurance Employee discount Paid time off (including birthdays) Major holidays off Retirement match Uniform allowance Continuing education to help develop your professional interests A successful candidate will possess the following traits: Self-motivated Compassionate Works well under stress Good oral and written communication skills Does not engage in drama or gossip Works well with teammates Productive Responsible Reliable Friendly Please include a cover-letter with your application.
