Job Description
Job Summary Town & Country Veterinary Clinic in Washington, Iowa is taking applications for a full time Registered Veterinary Technician. We are a busy and growing clinic that provides a wide variety of veterinary services for pets. We strive to make every visit to our clinic a low stress health care experience and we value lasting relationships with our patients and clients. The ideal candidate is friendly, a dependable team player, is detail oriented, can multi-task, and has excellent customer service skills. A Registered Veterinary Technician in our clinic will assist veterinarians in all aspects of client focused veterinary medicine while working in a supportive team environment. We work with advanced in-house diagnostic equipment including digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, ultrasound, in-house blood analyzers, and an AI digital microscope. Duties include but are not limited to: Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures Perform laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary protocols Restraining patients Performing X-rays Cleaning exam rooms and surgery suite Assisting with surgical procedures, preparation, and monitoring Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments Educating clients Caring for boarding animals Cleaning cages, runs, and pet areas Cleaning exam rooms and surgery suite Documenting and maintaining patient charts Checking-in and checking-out patients Answering phones and performing clerical duties Other duties as assigned Previous experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician is preferred. Registered Veterinary Technicians must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift 20 pounds repeatedly and 50 pounds occasionally. Flexible scheduling is required working 7:30am - 5:30pm four days per week plus rotating weekends. Compensation starts at $20.00/hour with a $500.00 signing bonus payable 14 days after employment.
