MojoVet is a privately owned veterinary practice that provides house call appointments around the Des Moines metropolitan as well as appointments and surgical services in our Waukee veterinary clinic. No day is the same at MojoVet as we see a huge variety of cases. We are passionate about animals and high-level veterinary medicine. You must be willing to pitch-in and help the team whenever necessary. The Veterinary Technician is the primary medical support resource for veterinarians during routine and sick appointments in the veterinary clinic and during "in-home" appointments. Technicians will provide support during surgeries and be responsible to see certain appointments without the help of a veterinarian. Skills and experience we are looking for: For this position we are looking for someone who already has experience working as a veterinary technician in a general/urgent care veterinary practice, ideally at least 2 years, and/or enrolled in a veterinary technology or animal science program. Prior veterinary surgery, exam room, and customer service experience; venipuncture, medical treatments, laboratory testing, digital x-rays, dental x-rays, therapy laser experience Communication skills: clear, polite, and friendly communication is essential. Communication with clients will be done via phone, text, email, and face-to- face daily. Professional and proper grammar is required. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and detail-oriented skill sets are required to excel in this role. Candidates must be able to fulfill the physical requirements of this role including being able to lift and/or help lift animals that can weigh over 100 pounds. You must be willing to sit, stand, crouch, kneel, be on the floor with animals, and move throughout the day. Having a compassionate attitude towards clients and situations is essential. We deal with a lot of sick animals, euthanasia, and situations where clients need emotional support. Skills and experience that would be attractive: Veterinary inventory management or veterinary in-house online pharmacy experience SOP creation, OSHA Computer / IT experience; Previous experience with a veterinary practice management system(s), Microsoft office, your typical office machines, online apps. Digital marketing, social media experience and event planning; have experience performing these tasks in a business environment. MojoVet offers competitive pay and a benefits package.
