Full-time Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) Evanston, IL | $22-$24 per hour, depending on experience Join a veterinary team with a tradition of excellence since 1960! We are a well-established, privately owned, AAHA-accredited small animal hospital in Evanston, Illinois, seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our collaborative three-doctor practice. We are looking for a dedicated CVT who enjoys practicing quality medicine, working closely with veterinarians, and building lasting relationships with clients and their pets. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and medical procedures including surgery and dentistry. Perform technical nursing duties, including venipuncture, sample collection, laboratory testing, and diagnostic procedures. Monitor patients during sedation, anesthesia, and recovery. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and other clinical findings. Provide compassionate patient handling, nursing care, and client education. Maintain accurate medical records and communicate important patient information to the veterinary team. Prepare and maintain equipment, treatment areas, and surgical spaces. Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to ensure excellent patient care and efficient hospital operations. Qualifications Current Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential required. Previous experience in a small animal veterinary practice preferred. Strong technical, nursing, and patient-monitoring skills. Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking abilities. A compassionate, detail-oriented approach to patient care. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to teamwork. Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a busy clinical setting.
