We would prefer to have someone who has experience in the Veterinary Field who has a broad knowledge of animal science, medicine and husbandry. Technicians are responsible for delivering compassionate nursing care, communicating effectively with staff and clients, and assisting with the care of boarding and hospitalized animals.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs Must be able to lift over 50lbs with assistance Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time Must be able to kneel/crouch/crawl for short periods of time Responsibilities- Prepare and Administer vaccines according to the hospital procedures
- Able to perform basic animal handling and Restraint
- Perform in hospital lab testing, Collect and prepare specimens for outside Labs
- Assisting Veterinarians by taking histories, vital signs, weights and providing client education.
- Fill Prescriptions in house, online and written that are authorized by a DVM
- Prepare Patients for Surgery, including intubation, inducing anesthesia and monitoring patients undergoing anesthesia.
- Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, exam rooms
- Assisting Receptionists when needed, taking calls, Scheduling appointments
- Clean, scale and Polish teeth with the dental machine and hand instruments
- Be able to accurately position for Radiographs and dental radiographs
- Be well versed in hospital software, digital medical records charting, Surgical monitoring charts, dental charts, hospitalized patient Charts and keeping very thorough professional notes.
- Maintain & monitor controlled drugs according to hospital procedures
- Maintain & monitor inventory items
- Other Duties and responsibilities as needed and assigned Requirements/Qualifications
- Excellent communication and Customer services skills in person and over the phone
- Calm and efficient during a medical crisis
- Ability to support clients through end-of-life decisions and last moments with their pets
- May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.
- Enjoys working with the animals and their people
- Willing to travel between the three clinics when needed.
