We are a small practice that is in the heart of Brownsburg, IN offering quality care for all its patients at an affordable price. We are open Monday - Friday 8-5 and Saturdays 9-1. We currently have 5 exam rooms a Digital x-ray, dental x-ray, Surgical laser, Cold laser therapy, Chemistry, CBC, high speed drill, and full in-house pharmacy. Our management software program is Avimark running on a paperless system. Previous knowledge of Avimark is a plus. You will be required to work 4 days a week and every other weekend. With very minor changes in schedule from time to time. The Veterinary Technician supports the veterinarians in ensuring quality veterinary care for all pets, advocates for pets, educates clients on all aspects of pet health, and ensures a safe and effective hospital environment. The veterinary technician will be responsible for performing administrative tasks, assisting veterinary staff in examining and monitoring animal patients, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in exam and operating rooms. The ideal candidate will be willing to learn new skills and develop their talents as a technician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Sanitize examining rooms and surface areas Assist in holding and restraining animals during exams Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and tools Ensure exam and operating rooms are stocked Assist vet with surgical procedures Provide care for animals after procedures Change animal bandages, bedding, and kennel materials Administer medications Assist in collecting samples such as blood or urine for testing Assist in emergency first aid Communicate with owners and families on surgery and recovery instructions Educate owners about animal health, conditions, and proper care Perform administrative duties such as updating files and processing payments Sweep mop and sanitize cages and floors work (4) 10 hour days with every other

Saturday Requirements:

One (1) year previous experience in animal care or in a clinic preferred Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently Proficient computer skills Basic understanding of animal behavior and health care Passion for working with animals and their owners Interpersonal communication skills to communicate with owners and other veterinary staff Ability to prioritize and manage numerous different patient needs at one time Attention to detail in order to maintain accurate patient records Physical ability to restrain all types of animals.
