Description Registered Veterinary Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant East Side Animal Hospital Full-time Evansville, IN Clinic hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Who we are At East Side Animal Hospital, you'll feel the warmth and openness of a small clinic, while having the opportunity and support of a united network. We offer primary, emergency, urgent care, boarding, and bathing services for dogs and cats in Evansville, Newburgh, and the Tristate Area. We are proud to be AAHA accredited. East Side Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Our Veterinary Technicians/Assistants are the heartbeat of our team and work side by side with our Veterinarians (DVMs) during procedures. A full-time position would require working between 30-40 hours a week, which includes a combination of day & evening shifts.
Role Responsibilities:
Assisting DVMs during procedures by restraining animals, conducting tests, monitoring vitals, and administering medications. Maintaining medical records and communicating with clients on their pets' medical procedures, including treatment plans and costs Maintaining examination, treatment, and surgical suite, including maintenance of equipment such as anesthetic machines/ monitors, x-ray machines, dental, and autoclaving equipment. Must be comfortable and confident handling dogs and cats of all sizes
Experience & Skills Requirements:
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or RVT-eligible preferred; experienced Veterinary Assistants encouraged to apply 1-2 years of veterinary clinic experience preferred Excellent communication and customer service skills with a positive, friendly attitude Team-oriented and able to work collaboratively Detail-oriented and organized Professional and courteous with clients and team members Able to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment Stays calm and responds effectively in emergency situations Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow Supports veterinarians with technical and administrative tasks Flexible schedule availability Willing to cross-train and assist with front desk duties as needed Compassionate about animal care and committed to providing exceptional client service You'll Grow With Us Here, you can grow your career as best fits you through access to comprehensive learning and skillset programs.
