The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with a passion for providing high-quality veterinary services. This role requires a blend of technical skills, knowledge of veterinary terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Veterinary Technician will play a crucial role in assisting veterinarians with medical procedures, patient care, and ensuring the overall well-being of animals. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform diagnostic tests and laboratory work, including blood draws and urinalysis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal patients pre- and post-operatively to ensure their health and comfort. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide client education on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments. Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including surgical areas and equipment. Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection. Support kennel operations by caring for boarding animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Requirements Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. Experience with animal handling techniques including dog handling and restraint methods. Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures related to pet dental care. Experience in veterinary critical care or emergency situations is advantageous. Laboratory experience with diagnostic testing is a plus. Equine experience is desirable but not required. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure in a busy clinic environment.
