Job Description
West Michigan Street Veterinary Clinic is a low cost, full service, fast paced small animal practice on the west side of Indianapolis. We are currently seeking a full or part-time experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or a highly experienced unlicensed technician to join our awesome team as a surgery technician. We are looking for a team player who is: Positive Energetic Takes initiative Punctual Willing to teach others Able to learn from others Accountable Someone that wants to help the need of the pet community Job requirements are (but not limited to): Anesthesia monitoring Anesthetic induction Surgery assistance Surgery prep Drug calculations Animal CPR trained Dental cleanings Phlebotomy Catheter placement (urinary & IV) Animal restraint Client interactions/communication Client education Note taking/ Record keeping Getting pets heart rate/ respiratory rate/ temperatures when needed Assist the Veterinarian Assist in cleaning surgery suite at the end of each day Fill medications as requested and approved by the DVM Be able to lift up to 50lbs (>50lbs will be assisted) Be able to bend and get up and down multiple times during the day Comfortable with fast paced environments Being able to take radiographs Bandaging/ Splint placement Help maintain a clean and stocked facility Keep track of daily duties and tasks Experience with Intravet is also a great plus but we can easily train you on this. We will have specific training for our in-house lab machines (VS2, Opticell CBC, and Imagyst) drug logbook, and x-ray machine that will be provided. We are looking for a full-time or part-time employee who is able to work: Monday/Wednesday/Friday for surgery days: 8am to 5pm Tuesday for dental days: 9am to 3pm
