Job Summary The Purdue University Veterinary Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic credentialed veterinary technician to work with our Ophthalmology team. We get to work with a variety of species, both small and large animals, helping with medical management in addition to surgical procedures. What better gift can you give to an animal than helping retain or restore vision? During their work, with new evaluations and recheck appointments, veterinary technicians get to participate in teaching veterinary students, veterinary technician students, interns, and residents. The team will also participate in microsurgery including cataract surgery and corneal surgeries in dogs and horses, laser procedures both intra and extraocular, preparing patients and their owners for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and decontaminating and sterile processing micro surgical instruments. The team also helps with clinical research projects that may be the next big breakthrough in treating or curing ocular conditions.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience Qualified candidates will need: Graduate of AVMA accredited veterinary technology program. One year of experience working in a Veterinary Hospital or related field. Must become RVT in Indiana within 12 months of hire.
Skills Needed:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Willing to teach clinical skills and concepts to students. Able to listen to and follow both verbal and written directions. Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations Nice to
